A Milpitas massage parlor owner is speaking out after a terrifying armed robbery left his employees and customers shaken on Saturday night.
Surveillance footage captured a man dressed in dark clothing storming into Foot Lax Foot and Body Massage with a gun, demanding money. According to the owner, a second suspect was also involved in the robbery.
“One of the suspects had previously scheduled an appointment. After entering the massage area, the second person came in with a gun, pointed it at the receptionist, and demanded cash. Then he forced the receptionist to the back of the room,” the owner explained. The owner, who was not present during the incident, requested to remain anonymous.
Meanwhile, people in the therapy rooms were desperately trying to barricade the doors as one of the robbers attempted to force them open and intimidate those inside.
“Stay right there or I’m going to shoot both of you,” one of the robbers reportedly threatened.
Massage therapists and customers were forced to hand over their cash, jewelry, and purses. One therapist attempted to escape through the back door but was allegedly assaulted in the process.
The suspects also raided the lobby and went behind the counter before fleeing out the back door. The whole ordeal lasted about three minutes.
“It’s devastating. You feel emotionally violated, and the financial loss is significant. Plus, one of our staff members was injured, which is very concerning,” the owner said.
In response, the owner has offered a $5,000 reward for any information leading to the identification and conviction of the suspects.
Police arrived shortly after the incident and have launched an investigation.
“It’s terrifying. I keep thinking about how we could have prevented this or how to stop it from happening again,” the owner added.
